The central Eucharistic prayer of the Divine Liturgy, containing the institution narrative, the epiclesis (invocation of the Holy Spirit), and intercessions. The Anaphora of St. James is foundational for the Syriac Orthodox; the Anaphora of St. Basil the Great (Coptic recension) is a principal Coptic Orthodox anaphora.
