(1989, 1990) Two joint declarations issued by representatives of the Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox Churches on Christology, concluding that the two families confess the same Christological faith in different terminological traditions. The first was signed at the Monastery of Anba Bishoy, Egypt (20–24 June 1989); the second at Chambésy, Switzerland (23–28 September 1990). They represent a major theological convergence but have not been universally received as ecclesial decisions in either communion.
