Chalcedon

The Fourth Ecumenical Council, received as such by the Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, and most Protestant traditions. Its Christological Definition declared Christ to be “acknowledged in two natures, without confusion, without change, without division, without separation,” in one person and one hypostasis. The council was not received by the churches now called Oriental Orthodox.
