(φρόνημα, pl. phronēmata). “Mindset, spirit, ethos.” Used to describe the distinctive theological and spiritual ethos of a tradition — what one must enter into, not merely learn about, to understand a confession from within. Describes the mindset, outlook, or way of thinking that is shaped by the Holy Spirit and in conformity with the faith and tradition of the Orthodox Church. It is a wholistic spiritual disposition that impacts how a person lives, prays, and interprets the world.
