Ecumenism

Formal theological dialogue among Christian communions aimed at truth in love and, where possible, the recovery of visible unity. Distinct from and not to be confused with indifferentism or relativism. The opposition and hesitancy to ecumenism has been rarely and critically called “ecumenoclasm”, emphasizing the belief in ecumenicism is a heresy to avoid to preserve traditional doctrine.
